What you will be doing in this role:

As a Product owner at Smiler, you will make a huge impact by shaping products that will be used by millions of people. You will drive the execution of the vision and the roadmap for a product by collaborating closely with our CPO (founder) and our development teams. This includes proactively incorporating feedback from a variety of stakeholders for our multi sided marketplace.
You will manage the backlog and the sprints for our development teams with a structured prioritization and development process.
We are a product-led organization with a strong and clear product vision working with an agile roadmap in 2 week sprints.

As a Product owner you will lead a multidisciplinary team combining roles such as Designers, Backend and Frontend Developers, and Data specialists.
The Product Owner reports and works closely with the Chief Product Officer.


Your key responsibilities:

  • Shape products systematically to deliver a great, cohesive user experience across our entire product ecosystem, always keeping our users’ wants and needs at the heart of everything you do.
  • Collaborate with our UX designer to design user flows, interactions, user interfaces and experiences that are simple, intuitive, and consistent across the web.
  • You will live your life in Jira, managing the sprints from a to z.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation, getting time estimations from the dev team and making sure designs arrive on time.
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with the product vision.
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product.
  • Ultimately, you’ll build a world-changing product.

  • Strong analytical skills, developing product hypotheses and understanding the results.
  • Strong ability transforming opportunities and needs into products and features.
  • Good understanding of UI/UX.
  • Savvy learner, avid listener, articulated communicator and presenter.
  • Ability to think on your feet and accept change as a constant.
  • Team player that lives by the motto: “Smiler > Team > Self”.
  • Adapt to true start-up life, get involved in group discussions, bring good ideas and more importantly: put those ideas into action.
  • The ability to work under pressure: All start-ups claim to be on a rocketship to the moon, but our fuel is different and we’re travelling at lightspeed.
